25. MIRI & MULU CAVES

DAY 1 DEPART FOR MIRI
Depart on Malaysia Airlines for Miri where you will
be met and transferred to your hotel upon arrival.
DAY 2 MIRI / MULU
After breakfast you will be transferred to Miri
Airport for the flight to Mulu. You will proceed to
the Royal Mulu Resort upon arrival. In the
afternoon, you will visit Deer Caves, 'the largest
cave tunnel in the world', Lang Caves and later
observe millions of bats coming out from the vast
entrance of the Deer Cave. Return to the resort for
an overnight stay.
DAY 3 DEPART FROM MIRI
Breakfast at the resort. Depart by longboat to Wind
Cave which takes about 30 minutes. Then another 10
minutes by plank walk to Clearwater Cave where lunch
will be served at Clearwater Summer's Hut. You will
then head for Mulu airport for a flight to Miri for
your connecting flight home. (Picnic lunch provided)
Recommended items to bring: Sturdy walking shoes,
hat, sun block, insect repellent and bottled
drinking water,
Recommended to use film ASA 400.

DAY 1 DEPART FOR KUCHING
Depart on Malaysia Airlines to Kuching where you
will be met and transferred to your hotel on
arrival. After breakfast, proceed for your tour to
Padungan to see the gigantic Cat Statue, Chinatown,
Tua Pek Kong Temple (built in 1876) and the Civic
Centre Building Tower Block for a panoramic view of
the whole city. Proceeding along the river you will
see villages built on stilts and view the
magnificent State Mosque. View the Astana (built in
1870), the former palace of the White Rajah, the old
colonial Law Court House with the Clock Tower and a
granite obelisk built in memory of the Rajah Charles
Brooke. Before returning to your hotel, you will
have the chance to do some shopping.
DAY 2 KUCHING
Bako National Park - Head for the Bako Fishing
Village from Kuching and then a 30 minute boat ride
on the South China Sea before arriving at the Bako
National Park and Exhibition Centre. You will trek
through changing landscapes from mangrove swamps
leading to dense rainforest, to Kerangan and to the
Padang forest. Continue on the Teluk Delima trail,
home of the Proboscis monkeys, blue fiddler crabs
and mud skippers.
DAY 3 DEPART FROM KUCHING
At leisure until your transfer to the airport for
your return journey home.
